28 DAYS LATER

BY CHRISTOPHER HASKELL
APRIL 18, 2013

A staple in the growing zombie horror niche, “28 Days Later” takes most of the elements we love from the genre and carries them to a much more cinematic level. Cillian Murphy was a wise casting choice by Danny Boyle, as he shoulders the shifting moods like a pro, even turning the wild third act into a somewhat enjoyable experience. Fresh-faced Naomie Harris shows enormous potential as the solid female presence, while Brendan Gleeson is an overall positive addition. Boyle succeeds in adding his spin and flair to this well-tread genre.
