Expect “Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part Two” to be a big contender at this year’s Academy Awards. Though Harry Potter is no stranger to the Academy Awards (normally in the cinematography category) this year’s Harry Potter will change things and rightfully so, with the biggest opening weekend in movie history ($483.2 million dollars opening weekend). Expect some acting awards to come out of this blockbuster (my hopes are for Alan Rickman) as well as a return to the cinematography category. Harry Potter will be a huge contender in the Visual Effects department, with my early bets already placed on it. Since the Best Picture category has expanded, I have a feeling Harry Potter will make the nominee list. All bets are off with Harry Potter and this film would not surprise me being a nominee in any of the categories it is being considered for.
