The Mixed Martial Arts equivalent of “The Fighter” from last year, the only thing saving “Warrior” is headliner Tom Hardy (“Bronson” and “Inception”). There has also been tons of buzz surrounding Nick Nolte’s supporting role, but this year’s Best Supporting Actor category is probably the toughest to get into (with George Clooney, Christopher Plummer, Colin Firth, and Philip Seymour Hoffman, but more on that later). With an 84% on RottenTomatoes.com, there must be something I am missing about this film besides resembling “The Fighter” so closely, but when it comes to nomination time, I am still not sure this film will stack up.
