Every year there are films that simply scream Academy Awards. Though I have yet to see this one, “The Descendants” looks to epitomize what an Oscar nominated film is made of. George Clooney alone is practically locked as a nomination for Best Actor. Also, the screenplay should just about be locked as well, with such an original and passionate story. I would even go as far as to say this has a very good chance of even grabbing Best Director and Best Picture nominations, though I will officially list my picks in the upcoming weeks. That said, “The Descendants” is a sure-fire Academy Award picture, now just to fit it into the appropriate categories.
