Regardless of what he is in, I am pro-Woody Harrelson. The man commands his roles with a precision unlike any other actors his age. Rugged and careless, frightening yet loveable, Harrelson is one of the best actors of our time, and one of the most underrated as well. In 2009, he was nominated for his supporting role in “The Messenger” and that was one of my favorite nominations of the year. This year, without a doubt, he should be nominated for his leading role in this film, “Rampart”, where he plays a dirty cop. I am reminded strongly of Denzel Washington in his role in the film “Training Day” and believe it or not, Denzel won the Oscar that year. Though I still have yet to see this film, picturing Woody Harrelson winning an Oscar this year would mark a highlight of the Academy Awards.
