If there is one film (besides “Super 8” and “Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part Two”) that screams Best Visual Effects this year, it is “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. Using the same CGI technology as the beloved “Avatar”, the monkeys/apes are given the define characteristics of their human counterparts with this technology. Expect to see this in the Visual Effects category for sure, though I believe it is being considered for all categories as well.
