Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender have been winning awards for the film “Shame” since it debuted, including Best Picture and Acting awards at the Venice Film Festival and Directing and Acting awards at the Seville European Film Festival. Though its NC-17 rating could hinder its possibilities of being nominated at this year’s Academy Awards, Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender’s talent cannot be denied. The inclusion of Oscar fodder like Carey Mulligan definitely helps its chances, it simply all comes down to the willingness and perception of the Academy members. However, if Michael Fassbender isn’t nominated this year, he is one breakthrough actor that I definitely have my eyes on for winning an acting Oscar in the future.
