More times than not, it is the films like “The Tree of Life”, which people have such a polarized opinions of, that actually end up being nominated for Academy Awards. The Terrence Malicks and Lars von Triers are some of the most imaginative and inspirational directors of our time, but often not understood, causing the love them or hate them reactions. “The Tree of Life” does deserve to be honored, but it will not surprise me if it is completely snubbed. I believe the film is being considered in all categories, but the main categories being considered are:
