Is it me or is this the year of nontraditional director taking the reigns; Ralph Fiennes, Vera Farmiga, Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie, and now Madonna directing the Weinstein Company’s for your consideration film “W.E.”. Basically picking up where “The King’s Speech” left off, “W.E.” focuses on the other brother, King Edward, and his mistress. Though my philosophy towards the Oscars is to never say never, I have a feeling this film will not gain much attention. It is hard enough for established directors like Steven Spielberg to get noticed, let alone a first time director like Madonna to even be taken seriously.
