“The Artist” takes the big win, which many are already predicting will win at the Academy Awards. I am very glad to see “Melancholia” get some recognition and I hope that translates at the Oscars. Also, Brad Pitt and Aaron Sorkin win for “Moneyball” which is no surprise. Also, two of my favorite films this year, “Drive” and “The Tree of Life”, represent nicely with Albert Brooks taking an award for supporting actor as well as Jessica Chastain, a personal favorite of mine this year. It is a shame that Werner Herzog’s “Cave of Forgotten Dreams” is not up for consideration for the Oscars, as it won here and I could easily get behind a Herzog documentary during Oscar time.
