“Anonymous” is filled with great costumes, especially those of Rhys Ifans’ character, Edward de Vere, which was preeminent from the trailer and leaves a lasting impression following the film. However, it suffers some of the same fate “Jane Eyre” does as most of it has been seen before and it is not delivered in a new and interesting way.
Since the “The Artist” is set to win the Best Picture category, it would be fitting for it to take some of the minor awards as well and even though the costumes aren’t anything spectacular in “The Artist” either, “Anonymous” has far less steam than its counterparts.
