Most people have a celebrity crush (or tons of them). Mine happens to be Hayley Williams from Paramore. I have enjoyed their music since their days as a Myspace band, and Hayley has held a special place in my eyes. So when they released a song for another love of mine, Transformers, I was ecstatic.
Now it’s one thing to have a favorite band of mine (make that several favorite bands of mine) put out singles for one of my favorite film franchises, and it’s another thing for those singles to be terrific songs. “Monster” is one of those great songs that will forever be my favorite.
The music video is also in contention for being an all-time favorite of mine. Paramore is known for having very well-produced music videos to accompany their work, and “Monster” is no different. In the first single since the loss of two band-mates, the remaining members come together to make a statement. Hayley looks stunning, and the entire music video matches the song’s excellence. Though this single came out last year, it is still stuck on repeat and will remain one of my all-time favorite Paramore singles.
