HICK / Here’s the breakdown: Chloe Moretz is one of the best young actresses ever. Her mature nature and down-to-earth show through in her performances and will carry her on to an abundantly successful career. So, taking the leading role of the film Hick is a new challenge for her and if the trailer is anything like the film, it will be a success. Eddie Redmayne is on the rise. I’ve had my eye on him ever since the film The Yellow Handkerchief, co-starring William Hurt and Kristen Stewart. Now, with the success of My Week With Marilyn, and her notable performance, his presence in this Derick Martini directed thriller places this film on my must-see list. Top off the cast with the on-the-rise Blake Lively, whose performance in The Town put her on my radar, as well as a good enough performance in Green Lantern and what looks to be a stellar showing in the upcoming Oliver Stone thriller, Savages, Hick as all the right players. Now let’s hope the story and Martini’s directing can follow suit. As an apprentice to Martin Scorsese, I have no worries regarding his future and hope this film expresses that.
