RED LIGHTS / Though Sigourney Weaver doesn’t exactly sell this film for me, Cillian Murphy and Robert De Niro do. Also, after Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Silent House, I think a lot of us were wondering where we’d see Elizabeth Olsen next and this looks like the perfect supporting role for her eerie expertise. Weaver and Murphy play investigators of psychics and De Niro is one of the most famous psychics around, but when Murphy’s character attempts to investigate him, some true paranormal activity occurs. De Niro has been playing some truly dramatic roles as of late and I much prefer that to his wacky, comedy performances. From the director of Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds, and originally from Spain, Rodrigo Cortes takes another crack at American cinema.
