Tuesday Releases: Damsels In Distress & Hatfields and McCoys

Not every week do you see a television release that tops all regular releases. But with the mini-series, “Hatfields & McCoys” getting a DVD release this week, none of the theatrical-run DVD releases can top it. Starring Bill Paxton and Kevin Costner as the leading patriarchs of the rival families after the Civil War, this History Channel release is probably one of the biggest to ever come from the network. With rave reviews and 22 Primetime Emmy nominations, it will be hard to miss this release.

Also available this week are a handful of small titles:

“ATM” – On a late night visit to an ATM, three co-workers end up in a desperate fight for their lives when they become trapped by an unknown man. (Starring Alice Eve, Josh Peck, and Brian Geraghty)

“Damsels In Distress” – A trio of girls set out to change the male-dominated environment of the Seven Oaks college campus, and to rescue their fellow students from depression, grunge and low standards of every kind. (Starring Greta Gerwig, Aubrey Plaza, and Adam Brody)

“Detention” – As a killer named Cinderhella stalks the student body at the high school in Grizzly Lake, a group of co-eds band together to survive while they’re all serving detention. (Starring Josh Hutcherson and Dane Cook)

“Le Havre” – Up for strong consideration last year for an Academy Award nomination, when an African boy arrives by cargo ship in the port city of Le Havre, an aging shoe shiner takes pity on the child and welcomes him into his home. (Animated)

“LOL” – As a new year at school begins, Lola’s heart is broken by her boyfriend, though soon she’s surprised by her best friend, promising musician Kyle, who reveals his feelings for her. (Starring Miley Cyrus, Ashley Greene, and Demi Moore)

New Releases
