Alexander Payne has won 2 Oscars for his writing work (“Sideways” & “The Descendants”). His latest film, “Nebraska”, it does not appear that he has had any hand in the writing, which could fail to grab this film a nomination for writing. That being said, Bruce Dern’s performance is being raved about from the few critics that have seen it. Being apart of Cannes this year, the film was beat out for the Palme D’or by “Blue is the Warmest Color”. Never count out the ability for Payne to draw an audience and with some interesting casting and already popular reviews, “Nebraska” will definitely be present at the Oscars in some capacity.
