Along with “Despicable Me 2”, I highly expect to see “The Croods” as another Best Animated Feature nomination, with an amazing voice cast, some great visuals, and a strong score. On par with nominations from other years, “The Croods” was also a huge box office success, bringing in over $580 million in its worldwide run, meaning its wide spread. Do not expect this to pop up anywhere else, however, except maybe Best Original Song. The Song category is often light-weighted and almost anything can show up in this category. And with the somewhat popular musician of Owl City performing the song “Shine Your Way” along with a catchy riff, all this song has to do is be remembered come voting time. That being said, I will be completely surprised not to see this nominated for Best Animated Feature.
