One hundred and twenty four documentaries is a ridiculous amount to choose from, but somehow that will get narrowed down to five. The ones that have the most buzz include “Amy,” the documentary about Amy Winehouse which was released this summer (the “Amy” trailer), “Best Of Enemies,” the Buckley Vs. Vidal documentary highlighting their rivalry (the “Best Of Enemies” trailer), “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story,” about Lizzie and her struggle with being different (the “Lizzie” trailer), and “He Named Me Malala,” about Malala and her extraordinary life (the “Malala” trailer). Some I’d like to see get nominated include “Cartel Land,” about the men taking it upon themselves to fight the drug wars on the border, “I Am Chris Farley,” about the late actor’s rise to popularity, “Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck,” which has gotten tons of press for the unprecedented look at the late musician, “The Look of Silence,” Joshua Oppenheimer’s follow-up to Oscar-nominated “The Act Of Killing,” and “The Wolfpack,” about a group of young boys who were locked away from the world by their father.

Some other buzz-worthy documentaries include “Finders Keepers,” about a colorful man that finds a severed foot in a purchased grill, “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief,” taking a look at the inner workings of Scientology, “Racing Extinction,” the follow-up from the creators of “The Cove,” and “Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine,” an in-depth look at the man that is also featured in Danny Boyle’s run at the Oscars this year, titled “Steve Jobs”.
