EVERYBODY WANTS SOME || Richard Linklater follows up “Dazed And Confused” with yet another blast from the past, following a college baseball team during the last days of summer leading up to the first day of class. The writing and the fraternity dynamic from the mostly unknown cast work wonders here. And Zoey Deutch continues to prove she’s the newest girl next door to hit Hollywood. |

GOD’S NOT DEAD 2 || Faith-based films are getting so heavy handed, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Melissa Joan Hart resurfaces to take on the role of the prosecuted teacher who uses God in one her lessons and is eventually put on trial, basically being forced to denounce her belief in God for some reason. It’s all completely melodramatic and unbelievable, which makes SNL’s parody of it even better: www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/god-is-a-boob-man/3021131 |
