TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS || June 3rd, 2016
APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN || What looks like some hybrid between “The Martian” and “Gravity,” Mark Strong mans a solo mission in “Approaching The Unknown,” as he embarks to Mars. But as his psyche grows continuously restless and his ships starts to malfunction, he must decide whether to return to Earth or continue on his own. Luke Wilson also stars, as his correspondent in the control room.

ME BEFORE YOU || First of all, I am a sucker for romantic dramas in the vein of everything Nicholas Sparks puts out. Secondly, ever since she appeared in “Game Of Thrones,” I have been a sucker for Emilia Clarke. Even her turn in “Terminator: Genisys” was great and for that I will continue to support her feature film efforts. In “Me Before You,” she plays a caregiver to a paralyzed young man that eventually falls in love with her and her with him. But with his condition, he balances between wanting to live and wanting to die.

POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING || Believe it or not, but “Hot Rod” is still one of my all-time favorite comedies, with Akiva Shaffer directing and Andy Samberg starring. Now they return with “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” poking fun at the super stardom akin to the lives of Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. With a star-studded cast and their unique humor, this will definitely have to be seen.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS || Fixing most of the problems I had with the first film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows” continues to pull on the nostalgia strings of my childhood, this time introducing the manhole-cover-shooting garbage truck and the hockey-loving Casey Jones. Shredder is no longer a CGI villain and even the villains that are, Krang, Beebop, and Rocksteady are done so quite amicably. Megan Fox, though gorgeous, is given a lesser part, with the turtles taking front and center. Like with “Transformers,” you are tapping into my childhood and for that, it is hard to disappoint me.
