I wasn’t able to post on Saturday, which turned out to be Brie Larson’s birthday, so I included her on this list of the talented and gorgeous women that I currently have or have had crushes on throughout the years.
Brie Larson (27) ***October 1st Birthday***
From: Sacremento, California
Favorite: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, 21 Jump Street, Short Term 12, & Room
Upcoming: Kong: Skull Island & Captain Marvel
Winning an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role last year for her role of Joy “Ma” Newsome in the drama Room, Larson is easily becoming one of my all-time favorite actresses and with that win you can expect to see her in even more films to come, including the new King Kong movie, Kong: Skull Island, alongside Tom Hiddleston and at this past San Diego Comic-Con, she was announced as the new Captain Marvel, set for a 2019 release. Larson first hit my radar in the film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, as the elusive Envy Adams across from Michael Cera. Later, she would catch my eye in 21 Jump Street as Jonah Hill’s high school love interest and then she would truly break out in the Indie role of a lifetime in Short Term 12, truly proving her acting chops. As of this year, it was announced that the young actress is engaged to her boyfriend Alex Greenwald of the band Phantom Planet.

Alicia Vikander (28)
From: Gothenburg, Sweden
Favorite: Anna Karenina, A Royal Affair, Ex Machina, & The Danish Girl
Upcoming: Tomb Raider
Coincidentally enough, Alicia Vikander also won an Academy Award this past year, except hers for Best Actress in a Supporting role, playing Gerda Wegener, the wife of a transgendered partner (played by Eddie Redmayne) in The Danish Girl. But she first stole the show in 2012’s Anna Karenina, in which she was such a small supporting role, but her grasp of that character was more memorable than anything the lead, Keira Knightley did. Vikander would go on to do some bigger films, like The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Seventh Son, but would eventually become a household name in Ex Machina, as the artificial intelligence Ava. Now you can see her in the latest Jason Bourne film alongside Tommy Lee Jones and in the period drama The Light Between Oceans alongside her partner Michael Fassbender.

Shannyn Sossamon (38)
From: Honolulu, Hawaii
Favorite: 40 Days and 40 Nights & A Knights Tale
Upcoming: Man Without A Head
The first two things she ever did as an actress were the two most memorable performances in her career, playing the love interest to Heath Ledger in the medieval film A Knights Tale and playing the love interest to Josh Hartnett in 40 Days and 40 Nights, a raunchy comedy in which he makes an abstinence pact to her character to prove his love. She would later go on to take a large hiatus throughout her career, only to show up again recently on the television series Wayward Pines and Sleepy Hollow. She also appeared in the horror sequel, Sinister 2. Sossamon has two children.

Tessa Thompson (33)
From: Los Angeles, California
Favorite: Veronica Mars, Selma, & Creed
Upcoming: Westworld TV Series & Thor: Ragnarok
Tessa exudes sophistication. Although the first thing I noticed her on was the Kristen Bell lead television series Veronica Mars, the first thing that I remember launching her name to the masses was Dear White People (a film I still need to see). She would later play Diane Nash opposite David Oyelowo’s Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma and then the leading love interest in the Rocky sequel Creed, opposite Michael B. Jordan. With her success in those films, she now moves on to the new HBO television series Westworld and will be featured in the Marvel universe as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, due next year.

Neve Campbell (43)
From: Guelph, Canada
Favorite: Party Of Five, The Craft, Scream, & Wild Things
Neve Campbell ushered in the new era of the “final girl” with Wes Craven’s Scream series, playing the iconic Sidney Prescott, a character that would show up in all four of the films. But before those films, she would be known for playing Bonnie in The Craft and was the main cast member of Julia Salinger in the television series Party Of Five (I posted about fellow cast member Lacey Chabert and her involvement in that series as well, last week). And in between the second and third Scream film, she would co-star with Denise Richards, Kevin Bacon, and Matt Dillon (also from Wayward Pines) in the hyper-sexual thriller Wild Things, which lands as an iconic film in its own sense. Most recently, Campbell played a small role on the television series Mad Men and was featured on the latest season of the Netflix series House Of Cards. She currently has no future projects listed so perhaps she is taking time with her four-year-old son.
