ALIEN: COVENANT || Set to bridge the gap between Prometheus and Alien, Ridley Scott returns to direct Alien: Covenant. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.”

The ensemble cast includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, and James Franco just to name a few. If you missed it last week, they were on full display in the five minute prologue titled “Last Supper,” which depicted the crew made of couples on the “Covenant,” getting ready for cyro-sleep on their trek to a new planet to repopulate.

In the trailer today, it shows that the crew makes it to the planet, but immediately finds themselves against the odds, with a Xenomorph (or Xenomorphs) running rampant on the ship, face-huggers, and Katherine Waterston putting on her best Ripley/Sigourney Weaver. It will definitely be interesting how they tie this to both the prequel and original and I am curious if Noomi Rapace’s character will appear.

The tag-line to the film is:

“The path to paradise begins in hell.”
