GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 || Without giving away too much more than the previous teaser, trailer, and TV spots, the new “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” trailer is officially the final trailer for the film, says director James Gunn. Finally debuting Kurt Russell’s character, Ego, who introduces himself as Peter/Star Lord’s dad, the only other main character introduced is Ayesha, the gold woman on the throne, who may or may not be the villain of the film. Nebula (Karen Gillan) is shown both as the Guardians prisoner and, reluctantly as it may be, also part of the team (“All you do is yell at each other. You are not friends.”) We get some good looks at the gorgeous Sovereign planet, home to Ayesha and her people, as well as “Ego the Living Planet” which apparently isn’t just Peter’s dad. The comic relief will come again from the very literal Drax (Dave Bautista), the very lewd Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), and the cute little Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). With many surprises not yet revealed, the biggest question will be how they might tie this film into the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War,” as Thanos played a big part in the previous “Guardians” film and is the big bad in that upcoming film.
