WOODSHOCK || If you’ve never heard of the Mulleavy sisters, do not be surprised, as this is their directorial debut. Originally fashion designers and founders of the fashion label Rodarte, the sisters actually collaborated with costume designer Amy Westcott on some of the costumes for the movie Black Swan. Now they direct this psychedelic, backwoods trip starring Kirsten Dunst as a woman dealing with loss by diving into a reality-altering drug. Having followed Dunst most of her career, all the way back to films like Jumanji and Interview With A Vampire, I have no plans in ditching her quite yet. And as her last out-of-the-box performance in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia, which became one of my favorite films of that year, I am prepared for whatever comes my way.
