GLOW || Despite being based on fictionalized characters, do not be mistaken, the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (or GLOW) was a very real thing back in the ’80s. Wikipedia describes the organization as: “Colorful characters, strong women and over-the-top comedy sketches were integral to the series’ success. Most of the performers were actresses, models, dancers and/or stunt women hoping to get into show business through wrestling.” Alison Brie stars lead in this Netflix series from the team behind the hugely popular Orange Is The New Black, which has been renewed through Season 5. Brie plays an aspiring actress who responds to a casting call and finds herself apart of this upstart wrestling organization. Marc Maron and Chris Lowell play the brains behind the organization.
