AMERICAN ASSASSIN || The new American Assassin trailer gives us a closer look at the world of author Vince Flynn’s book series, with Dylan O’Brien (Maze Runner) playing Mitch Rapp, a Black Ops recruit being trained by Michael Keaton’s Stan Hurley of the CIA. On their mission, they find that Taylor Kitsch’s character Ghost is behind the attacks that they’ve been sent to stop. Ghost has some connection to Hurley that is not quite revealed in the trailer, but we can assume he is one of the operatives that Hurley had once trained, having stated earlier in the trailer that he’s seen “off the charts” before, referring to one of his students. Built around what looks like a strong Keaton performance, this should be a decent political thriller.
