THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE || Not the most creative title, but the trailer for Thank You For Your Service definitely pulls at the heartstrings in all the right ways. Miles Teller plays veteran Adam Schumann, who, after returning from combat, tries to re-assimilate in normal civilian life, only to find that the quiet life of family and friends is anything but easy after seeing and feeling the horrors of war. There has a been a trend of these films, the Academy Award winning The Hurt Locker being one of the most high profile of the bunch, showing Jeremy Renner in almost the same exact role as Schumann, tasked with finding and disassembling IEDs. This is Jason Hall’s directorial debut, just after coming off an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay from his work American Sniper. Hall writes this as well, adapting from a non-fiction book of the same name by David Finkel. The talented and beautiful Haley Bennett (The Magnificent Seven & The Girl On The Train) plays his wife while Amy Schumer is credited to also be starring in some capacity, although she was not featured in the trailer. Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human” provides the perfect score to this extremely well cut trailer.
