LEATHERFACE || The Texas Chainsaw Massacre gets an origin story, with the Red-Band trailer dropping titled Leatherface. The ballistic madman we know from the originals, running around with human-skin masks and crazily wielding a chainsaw of which the titles come from, Leatherface is depicted as a kid, getting his first chainsaw as a gift, ensnaring his first kill, and sewing his first skin mask. Not that we really need an origin story, the other factors that make this somewhat more interesting is the rest of the family, who have always been depicted as just as strange, harboring this maniac in their home and likely ushering him in the homicidal direction. Stephen Dorff and Lili Taylor make up the more widely known cast while the rest is somewhat smaller names while the directing team behind this are French. The movie is getting a DirectTV exclusive release in September and then a limited release in theaters in October, just in time for Halloween.
