THE DARK TOWER || For decades, Stephen King fans have waited for an adaptation of his epic “Dark Tower” series, lead by the infamous Gunslinger on a mission to save the Dark Tower from the Crimson King. Ron Howard’s company finally found a way to tell the story on screen and unfortunately, as has been the case with Sony films, it is a franchise film made for absolutely no one. It’s not accessible for the general public and it is definitely not made for fan boys. Idris Elba does his best to play the part given to him, but this is definitely not King’s version of the Gunslinger.
KIDNAP || Several years back, Halle Berry did a film where she was an operator trying to help a woman trapped in the trunk of a car being kidnapped. The film was “The Call.” Now, in a completely unrelated movie, someone has kidnapped her son and instead of waiting around for the police to do something, she’s taking matters into her own hands in the film aptly titled “Kidnap.”
