Hulu had a huge week, adding more recognizable titles, past and present, than could fit on this list. But it was Netflix that added most of the ones that made the list this week, including some original content in “What Happened To Monday?” which is being called “Seven Sisters” overseas, starring Noomi Rapace, who plays a septuplet of sisters in a futuristic world where multiple children aren’t allowed. Netflix also releases their Marvel team-up in the form of “The Defenders,” in an eight episode arc that sees the worlds of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist all converge with Sigourney Weaver’s villain at the center of it all. Some classics on this week’s list include the original “Red Dawn,” starring Charlie Sheen and Patrick Swayze (today would have been his birthday) and Thelma & Louise. Some newer classics include “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow,” starring Jude Law and Angelina Jolie and the remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” in which Pierce Brosnan is an art thief that starts an affair with Rene Russo, the woman tasked to hunt him down. Rounding out the rest of the list is the card counting film “21” starring Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth, the Warren Beatty directed “Rules Don’t Apply” starring Lily Collins, “Gold,” starring Matthew McConaughey, and the Harry Potter spin-off prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them,” starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Colin Farrell.
