When you think of the horror genre, there are many directors whose names pop up as being some of the most influential; Wes Craven, John Carpenter, and George A. Romero. One of the names highest up on that list would most definitely have to be Tobe Hooper. With work like the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Poltergeist,” few would argue that these are some of the best horror films ever made. Not much of his other titles were widely known, but because his achievements on the films he was known for, those other titles took on cult followings of their own. With the loss of George A. Romero earlier this year, the horror community will never be the same with the loss of Hooper as well.
