Finally, we have a film that has won two Best Pictures in a row, with “Get Out” winning Best Picture from the Washington D.C. Area critics and now from the Boston Online Critics. It also went on to win Best Ensemble and Best Screenplay. Paul Thomas Anderson wins his first Best Director award of the season for “Phantom Thread” which also tied with “The Shape Of Water” for Best Original Score. The acting awards went to familiar faces with Timothée Chalamet winning for “Call Me By Your Name,” Frances McDormand winning another one for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri,” Willem Dafoe stealing back the streak for “The Florida Project,” and Laurie Metcalf winning yet another supporting award for “Lady Bird.” “Coco” continues the Best Animated Feature streak while Angelina Jolie’s “First They Killed My Father” won its first award of the season.
