MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT
With the latest trailer for “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” we dive deeper into the story and the character arcs, but with that substance, we lose the style that was so prevalent in the first trailer. We’ve traded in the awesome Imagine Dragons remixed M:I theme and gone full orchestra, with tense strings and the classic M:I theme. The story of the film is directly connected to the previous film, with the villain Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) featured with a threat in the opening of the trailer. Angela Bassett is the leading body this time around, warning Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) that if he doesn’t play ball, she’s ordered her own hired assassin, August Walker (Henry Cavill), to track him down and kill him. Well, from the looks of all the advertising and what we know about Hunt, he doesn’t obey because Walker is hunting and fighting him throughout the entire trailer. The rest of Hunt’s team is back including Benji (Simon Pegg), Luther (Ving Rhames), and Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson), who also warns Hunt, pleading with him to not make her go through him. The advertising has also not been shy about showing Julia Meade-Hunt (Michelle Monaghan) and in this trailer we even get a glimpse at what looks like their wedding. The action set pieces look thrilling as always and are a big part of why these films have seen such a resurgence.
