Probably best known for his role as Hershel Greene on “The Walking Dead,” Scott Wilson actually got his start in the Academy Award winning film “In the Heat of the Night” (1967). He would later star in films like “The Great Gatsby” (1974) and “The Right Stuff” (1983). His later films would include memorable titles like “G.I. Jane” (1997), “Pearl Harbor” (2001), and his last theatrical role, “Hostiles” (2017). His television appearances would range from “The Twilight Zone” and “The X-Files” to “Justified” and Netflix’s “The OA,” in which he played the father of Brit Marling. Although he will truly be missed, his legacy will live on forever.
