FILM SYNOPSIS: The Parr family – father Bob, mother Helen, teenage daughter Violet, tween son Dash and toddler Jack-Jack – are frustrated that superheroes are still forced to hide their powers. When a tycoon concocts a PR campaign promoting Elastigirl’s adventures, Helen takes charge while Bob stays at home. New villain Screenslaver forces the entire family to suit up, however, to foil his evil schemes.
Before entering the main part of the Oscar season, “Isle Of Dogs” and “Incredibles 2” seemed like the biggest competitors for Best Animated Feature, with “Incredibles 2” pulling slightly ahead because of the Academy’s love for Disney/Pixar. But then “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” went over huge and ended up cleaning house when it came to awards season. Now, both the previous front-runners are playing second fiddle to “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” and at this point, if anything beats it, I would be wholly surprised. That being said, at this point, if any film can sneak in and take the gold away from “Spider-Man,” Pixar and “Incredibles 2” is the only film that would have that chance.
