If you ever needed proof that Netflix isn’t going anywhere, just look at its nominations count for this year’s Golden Globes. It towers above the rest with a total of 17 nominations for its original films and series. “Marriage Story” grabbed more nominations than any other film, with six, and while the second most went to “The Irishman,” which grabbed five nominations. Add to that the nominations for “Dolemite Is My Name” and “The Two Popes” and you see the impact Netflix is making this year. Whether that will translate into Academy Award nominations has yet to be determined, but this is definitely a helpful stepping stone on that path.
