
Coming off her buzzed about 2017 film, “The Rider,” Chloé Zhao and her latest film, “Nomadland,” is the first critics awards darling of the season, taking the Boston Society’s top honors of Best Picture and Best Director along with Best Cinematography. Charlie Kaufman was awarded Best Screenplay for “I’ve Been Thinking Of Ending Things,” which also took Best Editing. “The Father” also grabbed a pair of award wins, with Best First Film going to director Florian Zeller and Anthony Hopkins taking Best Actor.
