The Hollywood Critics Association honored the winners of their 4th Annual Awards ceremony. “Promising Young Woman” ended up with Best Picture, which was no surprise when you see that it won across the board, winning a total of four awards as well as Emerald Fennell winning the Filmmaker on the Rise award. Darius Marder, the director of “Sound Of Metal,” was honored for the first time this season, winning the Best Male Director award. Chloé Zhao was the Best Female Director, despite “Nomadland” not showing up many places, save for Best Cinematography. “Birds Of Prey” won a few technical and genre categories as did “The Invisible Man.” Other films that got multiple wins were “Minari,” “Da 5 Bloods,” and “Palm Springs.”
