Taye Diggs hosted the 26th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards Sunday night. With a few actors in the studio to help present and many more available on Zoom calls, the awards were given out for one of the most unprecedented years in memory. Taking the big awards was “Nomadland,” which took Best Picture and Best Director, as well as Best Cinematography and Best Adapted Screenplay. “Promising Young Woman” won a pair of awards, with Emerald Fennell winning for Best Original Screenplay and Carey Mulligan winning for Best Leading Actress. Chadwick Boseman won another posthumous Best Leading Actor award for his role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” which his widow once again accepted on his behalf. On the television side, “Schitt’s Creek,” “Ted Lasso,” “The Crown,” and “The Queen’s Gambit” were the big winners across the board.
