After the longest-running Academy Award season, the nominations for 2020 were finally announced this morning by Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Nick Jonas. It was also officially announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president David Rubin that the Awards would take place between the Dolby Theatre and Union Station in Los Angeles, a first for the Oscars. For the nominations, it seems like most will be satisfied. The Academy showed less love for films like “Da 5 Bloods” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” but showed more love for films like “Minari” and “Judas and the Black Messiah.” Even the Director’s category featured two women. Now the real fun of trying to predict what will win begins. The 93rd Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
