Last year, the Boston Online Film Critics Association picked “Nomadland” and Chloé Zhao as its top choices. This year, those honors were awarded to “The Power of the Dog” and Jane Campion. In fact, “The Power of the Dog” won seven awards, including three for acting (Cumberbatch, Smit-McPhee, and Dunst), one for Best Screenplay, and the last for Best Cinematography. “Dune” scored to technical wins, with Best Score to Hans Zimmer and Best Editing to Joe Walker, both of which should end up with an Oscar nomination.

The Boston Online Film Critics Association was established in May of 2012 in order to foster a community of web-based film critics and provide them with a supportive group of colleagues and a professional platform for their voices to be heard. In addition, we seek to become active members of the Boston film community by sponsoring screenings, supporting local film festivals, offering educational outreaches, and celebrating the achievements of individuals who make Boston a haven for cinephiles.
