OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

With this tender and clear-eyed coming-of-age odyssey, the renowned photographer turned filmmaker Gordon Parks not only became the first Black American director to make a Hollywood studio film, he also served as writer, producer, and composer, resulting in a deeply personal artistic achievement. Based on Parks’s own semi-autobiographical novel, The Learning Tree follows the journey of Newt Winger, a teenage descendant of Exodusters growing up in rural Kansas in the 1920s, as he experiences the bittersweet flowering of first love, finds his relationship with a close friend tested, and navigates the injustices embedded within racist legal and educational systems. Exquisitely capturing the bucolic splendor of its setting, this landmark film tempers nostalgia with an incisive understanding of the harsh realities, hard-won lessons, and often wrenching moral choices that shape the road to self-determination of the young Black man at its center.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

For Hank Aaron. For Phil Niekro. For Braves Country™. The Atlanta Braves™ are 2021 World Series Champions™, proving that it is anyone’s game once the Postseason™ begins by taking down the Houston Astros™ in a six-game Fall Classic™.

About halfway through the regular season, the Braves had a losing record and were dealt a season-ending injury to Ronald Acuna Jr., superstar and NL™ MVP candidate. General Manager Alex Anthopoulos deftly traded for Joc Pederson, Jorge Soler, Adam Duvall, and Eddie Rosario to help change the course of the season.

Braves lifer and Manager Brian Snitker now had his crew, and the Braves caught fire with a 36-19 (.655) finish to claim the NL™ East Division championship. They then beat the Milwaukee Brewers™ in the NLDS™ and dethroned the Los Angeles Dodgers™ in the NLCS™ to set the matchup with the Astros, a franchise playing in the World Series™ for the third time in five years.

The Braves turned on the power throughout the World Series. Jorge Soler led off Game 1 with a homer and kept hitting his way to the Willie Mays World Series™ MVP Award. Austin Riley emerged as a force, and Ozzie Albies kept the lineup moving while Freddie Freeman, Adam Duvall, Travis d’Arnaud, and Atlanta native Dansby Swanson joined in the power display.

The World Series was also the perfect stage to continue Atlanta’s rich pitching legacy. Charlie Morton turned in a heroic performance on a broken leg in Game 1. Ian Anderson threw five no-hit innings in Game 3, and Max Fried dominated Game 6 to help clinch the first title of the 21st century for the Braves and the fourth championship in franchise history.

THE ATLANTA BRAVES™ 2021 WORLD SERIES® COLLECTOR’S EDITION eight-disc set boasts all six complete games of the World Series, the pennant-clinching NLCS™ Game 6, and “The 2021 World Series” feature-length documentary. Relive every moment of the 2021 Fall Classic™ starring Freddie Freeman, Dansby Swanson, Ozzie Albies, Max Fried, Jorge Soler, Eddie Rosario, A.J. Minter, Travis d’Arnaud and more.

The Braves completed a mathematically improbable journey to a World Series title. The NL™ East Division champs didn’t have a winning record until August 6, and they had the lowest win total of any team to reach the 2021 Postseason™. What did the Braves do? Added talent and kept grinding! The Braves beat the 95-win Milwaukee Brewers™ in the NLDS™ to set up a series with the defending champions. In the NLCS™, the Braves took down the 106-win Los Angeles Dodgers™ in six games en route to their first World Series appearance since 1999.

In the Fall Classic, the Braves faced the Houston Astros™, playing in their third World Series in five years. The teams split the first two games of the series in Houston before heading to Truist Park™. The long-awaited return of the World Series to Braves Country™ did not disappoint as the Braves took Games 3 and 4 in low-scoring, tightly-contested affairs. The Astros won Game 5 to pull closer and force the series back to Houston and more baseball to be played into November. In the third inning of Game 6, Willie Mays World Series™ MVP Award winner Jorge Soler hit a tide-turning homer with such force that it left Minute Maid Park™ and it was all Braves after that. Mathematically improbable or not, the Commissioner’s Trophy™ returned to Atlanta for the first time since 1995!

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Ludwig. He loved women. He loved men. He lived as controversially as he ruled. But he did not care what the world thought. He was the world.

A string of masterpieces behind him – including Ossessione, Senso, The Leopard and Death in Venice – the great Italian director Luchino Visconti turned his attentions to the life and death of King Ludwig II of Bavaria in 1972, resulting in an epic of 19th century decadence.

Dominated by Helmut Berger (The Damned, The Bloodstained Butterfly) in the title role, Ludwig nevertheless manages to find room for an impressive cast list: Romy Schneider (reprising her Elisabeth of Austria characterisation from the Sissi trilogy), Silvana Mangano (Bitter Rice), Gert Fröbe (Goldfinger), John Moulder-Brown (Deep End) and Trevor Howard (Brief Encounter) as RichardWagner.

As opulent as any of Visconti’s epics – Piero Tosi’s costume design was nominated for an Academy Award – Ludwig is presented here in its complete form in accordance with the director’s wishes and features the English-language soundtrack for the first ever on home video.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • 2K restoration from the original film negative
  • Two viewing options: the full-length theatrical cut or as five individual parts
  • Original Italian soundtrack with optional English subtitles
  • Original English soundtrack available on home video for the first time ever with optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing

Directed by Richard Benjamin

BR: $27.99

BR: $27.99

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters), Kim Basinger (The Nice Guys) and Jon Lovitz (Southland Tales) star in a fish-out-of-water comedy with a sci-fi twist that questions whether a romance between two star-crossed lovers who are literally worlds apart can ever work.

When widowed astronomer Steve Mills (Aykroyd) inadvertently causes a gravitational disruption in deep space, a race of hyper-advanced alien lifeforms sends one of their own to investigate, disguised in the alluring human form of Celeste (Basinger). Tasked with seducing the lovelorn Steve in a bid to gain access to his scientific research, Celeste finds herself falling for the man she’s been sent to swindle. But they’ve not counted on Steve’s young daughter Jessie (Alyson Hannigan, TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer), who’s none too thrilled by the prospect of a new mother – especially not one from another planet.

Funny and touching in equal measure, My Stepmother is an Alien is an offbeat and at times surprisingly risqué comedy that confirms the adage that what unites us is far greater than what divides us… even if what divides us happens to be an entire galaxy.
