WHY I DIDN’T CHOOSE THE OTHER FIVE

“The Power of the Dog” and “Belfast” are two films I feel will have plenty of Oscar love and that could translate into them getting a Best Sound nomination, but those are two films I haven’t seen, so it is tough to judge. “tick, tick…BOOM!” is a musical, so it should fit in here, but the fact that it has seen very little Oscar love so far leads me to believe it won’t end up here. The last two, “The Matrix Resurrections” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” just don’t seem like they do enough to be considered Oscar-nominated films in this category. However, “Last Night in Soho” and “A Quiet Place Part II” are sort of wishful picks, so any of the aforementioned films could take their places.
