After all the love “The Power of the Dog” has received from the critics, it is hard to imagine a world in which it is not a decent contender for the Academy Award for Best Picture. The latest group to give it that honor was the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle, who also awarded Jane Campion with the Best Director and Adapted Screenplay awards.
