NORTH DAKOTA FILM SOCIETY

The North Dakota Film Society (NDFS) was created in 2019 to promote film education, preservation, criticism, and exhibition. Members of NDFS represent filmmakers, exhibitors and theater owners, educators, and members of the press (radio, television, online, or print).

Through its digital platforms, NDFS shares its members’ work while offering a new and exciting voice to the burgeoning film scene in North Dakota.

North Dakota is home to over 75 cinema screens throughout its major markets (Bismarck, Fargo, and Grand Forks), plus many of its smaller towns and cities are home to historic movie houses and theaters, like the art moderne Fargo Theatre, located in downtown Fargo, or the the Scenic Theater in Lisbon, ND, which is the oldest continuously-run theater in the United States.
