Despite being blacklisted only a year ago, the Hollywood Foreign Press and the Golden Globes are back in the awards conversation this morning as they announced their nominees. Last year, NBC refused to air their telecast, and Tom Cruise declared he’d be returning his statues, and yet this morning, I awoke to an Instagram filled with major studios posting their award laurels. Regardless of the politics involved, the significant nominees mainly included what we’ve seen this awards season, led by “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Elvis.” Some notable blockbuster films include “Avatar: The Way of Water” and “Top Gun: Maverick.” At the same time, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” was the more prominent nominee on the lower budget side.
