WHY I CHOSE THOSE FIVE?
Over the years, I’ve learned that the Academy typically sticks to the basics regarding the Animated Feature category. That is to say, even though there are films like “Inu-Oh” and “Oink,” “The Sea Beast” and “Mad God,” the Academy will stick to the stalwarts like Pixar’s “Turning Red” and Dreamworks’ “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish” and “The Bad Guys.” However, the focus will be on the two front-runners, with Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio” and A24’s “Marcel the Shell With Shoes One” being the ones that will be fighting it out for the Oscar.
