With Oscar nominations under two weeks away, the Costume Designers Guild announced their nominees, narrowing down what might get nominated by the Academy. The Period category appears to have the most potential for an Oscar nomination, with “Babylon,” “Elvis,” “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris,” and “The Woman King.” “Don’t Worry Darling,” “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” and “Nope” getting nominations makes me very hopeful that these stand a chance at the Oscars. One film that has me beside myself is “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which doesn’t feel like it belongs here.
