The Producers Guild Awards are the most significant predictor for the Best Picture Oscar, and they announced their nominees today. The obvious choices included “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and “The Fabelman,” which are the front-runners for winning Best Picture. “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Elvis,” and “Top Gun: Maverick” are also safe bets for getting nominated for Best Picture. “TÁR” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” fall under the likely but not guaranteed category. “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” and “The Whale” are welcome surprises but might not get the Oscar nominations. Missing were “Babylon” and “Women Talking,” as well as any international features (“RRR” and “Decision to Leave”).
