Put Your Soul on Your Hands and Walk
Kino Lorber | 2025 | 116 min | Not Rated
Directed by Sepideh Farsi
Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk offers an intimate, first-hand perspective on life under siege in Gaza, captured through video calls between director Sepideh Farsi and 25-year-old Palestinian photojournalist and poet Fatma Hassona. Combining raw immediacy with deep humanity, the film captures daily life during the conflict through the eyes and unwaveringly optimistic presence of Fatma, a talented photographer whose generation is trapped in an endless cycle of war, famine, and resistance. Her conversations with Farsi bring us into the heart of the conflict, even while their physical distance underscores the dire situation inside Gaza. Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk is an essential document that now stands as a heartfelt memorial and final testament: Fatma and her family were tragically killed by a targeted Israeli airstrike on April 16, one day after the film was announced as a selection of the Cannes Film Festival.

Naked Ambition
Music Box Films | 2023 | 72 min | Not Rated
Directed by Dennis Scholl & Kareem Tabsch
Bunny Yeager, once heralded as the world’s prettiest photographer, had a huge influence on 20th-century pop culture, though few people know her name. Whether by popularizing the bikini, helping discover Bettie Page, shaping the image of Playboy, or inventing the selfie, Bunny was a trailblazer whose work bucked against conservative 1950s America and helped pave the way for the feminist movement and the sexual revolution. Yet the very changes she helped usher in would soon render her a forgotten relic… until now. Featuring testimonies from Dita Von Teese, Bruce Weber, and Larry King, Naked Ambition is a rediscovery of a brilliant yet overlooked artist.

When he insists on staying in the reportedly haunted room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel against the grave warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson), he discovers the room’s deadly secret — an evil so powerful, no one has ever survived an hour within its walls. The Pink Panther
Kino Lorber | 1963 | 115 min | Not Rated
Directed by Blake Edwards
Comedic genius Peter Sellers first tickled the world pink with laughter as the bumbling yet tenacious Inspector Jacques Clouseau in director Blake Edwards’ riotously funny caper The Pink Panther. David Niven stars as Sir Charles, an urbane British playboy who is secretly also smooth criminal “The Phantom.” Trailed by the accident-prone French detective among the jet set, the suave jewel thief sets his sights on stealing The Pink Panther — a large pink diamond whose name derives from its shimmering resemblance to a leaping feline — away from its keeper, the lovely and feisty Princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale). Robert Wagner and Capucine co-star, as Sir Charles’ sly nephew George and Clouseau’s utterly unfaithful wife Simone. Filmed on gorgeous European locales including Cortina d’Ampezzo, the movie created a sensation with its animated opening credits introducing composer Henry Mancini’s unforgettable theme music accompanying the title cartoon character — a cool cat who became a beloved icon for all ages!

The Pink Panther Strikes Back
Kino Lorber | 1976 | 103 min | Rated PG
Directed by Blake Edwards
Peter Sellers strikes comedic gold in his fourth Pink Panther movie with director/producer/co-writer Blake Edwards, generating a torrent of laughter as the lovably inept detective Jacques Clouseau, now promoted to Chief Inspector. But Clouseau has no time to “rust assured” on his laurels since his mad longtime boss, “former Chief Inspector!” Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), has escaped from an insane asylum to a sinister lair and commissioned a doomsday device. Holding the world to ransom, Dreyfus places a bounty on Clouseau’s confused head — which cues a slew of international assassins setting off to slay the oblivious French detective, as he stumbles around the globe after Dreyfus. From its hysterical pre-credits sequence to the witty animated opening credits with the cartoon Pink Panther tributing movie legends to the outrageous climax accompanied by Tom Jones (and also Clouseau!) performing the Oscar-nominated song “Come to Me,” The Pink Panther Strikes Again hits deliriously funny heights in screen comedy.

Revenge of the Pink Panther
Kino Lorber | 1978 | 99 min | Rated PG
Directed by Blake Edwards
Revenge has never been sweeter…or funnier…or crazier, than when legendary actor Peter Sellers returns in high comedic style as Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau for director/producer/co-writer Blake Edwards in Revenge of the Pink Panther. A crime syndicate has put out a hit on the disaster-magnet French detective which they believe has succeeded, so he decides — as only Clouseau can — to go “under the covers, y’kneuw.” While his high-strung former boss Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) tries to piece together the case, Clouseau dons ridiculously complicated disguises and hectically enlists the aid of his loyally fight-prone employee Cato (Burt Kwouk) for field work. But it’s the crime ring’s whistleblower Simone (Dyan Cannon) who holds the key to a Hong Kong rendezvous — filmed on location — where mayhem erupts in an explosively funny finale! Look out for real-life Kenpo Karate master Ed Parker in a two-fisted special guest appearance, and listen in for a fabulously disco-era Henry Mancini music score.

A Shot in the Dark
Kino Lorber | 1964 | 102 min | Not Rated
Directed by Blake Edwards
The second movie in the classic Pink Panther series of crime comedies, A Shot in the Dark is a brilliant re-teaming of director/co-writer Blake Edwards and star Peter Sellers — at his hilarious best as the fearlessly dedicated yet haplessly distracted Inspector Clouseau. Accidentally assigned to a high-profile murder case at a wealthy estate, the fuddled French detective immediately falls head over heels — when not falling out of windows and into ponds! — for the prime suspect, beautiful parlor maid Maria Gambrelli (Elke Sommer). There’s no lengths Clouseau won’t go to in championing Maria as innocent, from disobeying his ferociously furious boss Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) to disrobing at a nudist colony. But when more and more murders occur, will the Inspector himself stay alive long enough to solve the baffling case? George Sanders and Tracy Reed co-star along with — marking their series debuts — Pink Panther fan favorites Graham Stark, Andre Maranne, and karate-chopping Burt Kwouk.

The Godless Girl
Kino Lorber | 1928 | 113 min | Not Rated
Directed by Cecil B. DeMille
Restored in 4K by Photoplay Productions, backed by an orchestral score by Carl Davis, The Godless Girl is the final silent feature by the cinema’s greatest showman and moralizer, Cecil B. DeMille (The Ten Commandments). Naive teenager Judy (Lina Basquette) leads a Godless Society at her high school and encourages her fellow students to “Kill the Bible.” A pious schoolmate, Bob (Tom Keene), organizes a mob to destroy Judy’s headquarters, resulting in the death of her comrade (Mary Jane Irving). The tragedy lands all three teens at a brutal reform school, where they suffer institionalized cruelty and are victimized by one especially barbaric guard (Noah Beery). In the climactic final act, the school is set ablaze, and DeMille pulls out all the dramatic stops to deliver an epic, masterfully orchestrated setpiece in which Bob tries to rescue Judy from the hellish inferno.

Robert Taylor 4-Film Collection
(Devil’s Doorway / Westward the Women / Ivanhoe / The Last Hunt)
Warner Bros. | 1950-1956 | 4 Movies | 409 min | Unrated
Directed by Richard Thorpe, William A. Wellman, Anthony Mann, Richard Brooks
One of M-G-M’s most popular leading men, Robert Taylor displays his star quality in four of his very best M-G-M films. 1950’s DEVIL’S DOORWAY casts Taylor as a Native American Civil War veteran facing violence and hatred upon his return from the battlefield. Taylor is unforgettable in 1952’s IVANHOE, a richly Technicolored epic co-starring Elizabeth Taylor, THE LAST HUNT is a taut CinemaScope action classic from Director Richard Brooks, and Taylor gives one of his most unforgettable performance in William A. Wellman’s overlooked masterpiece WESTWARD THE WOMEN
